Can we use credit cards?

We are very to announce that we do not take credit cards. We also do not deal with traveler’s checks and debit cards. We only take notes for our exchange (JPY or any other currencies).

Are there any fees charged for currency exchange?

There are no hidden charges. Rates will be shown at each of our branches and the exchange will be made accordingly. There will be no extra charges than the rates displayed at the branches.

Is there a maximum or minimum amount in currency exchange?

Although there is no minimum limit on exchange, we have set a maximum limit.

At our branches, we will limit the maximum amount of foreign currency exchange transactions by the same individual to 5 million Japanese yen according to the provision based on the revised criminal profit transfer prevention law.

Also, please note that coins will not be accepted as we will only deal with bank notes.

Can you supply a receipt?

Yes we issue receipts. Please ask our staff if you need a receipt.

Can I change multiple types of foreign currency at once?

Yes, you can. You will have to fill out extra forms depending on the number of currencies you want, but we do accept multiple currency exchange.

The rates are different to what I saw on the website.

Foreign currency exchange rates are updated about three times a day. So, what you see on the website may not be the real-time rates.

Please note that we have different exchange rates for mail order and exchanges made at our branches. Please make sure you check the correct rates.

Can you exchange coins?

We are very sorry but we only exchange notes at this time.

Do you handle foreign currencies that are not displayed at the branches?

We are sorry but we only deal in currencies that are displayed at each of our branches. We are working to deal in extra currencies.

How long will it take to have my currency exchanged?

Basically, it is possible to exchange money within a few minutes at our branches.

However, if you wish to exchange more than 300,000 JPY at one transaction, we will have to confirm your ID so it will take a few extra minutes. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Do you buy any foreign currency?

Currencies that we handle may vary depending on the branch. Please check the exchange rate list at your desired branch beforehand.

At our store, we use a banknote identification machine to check the bank notes. We buy all notes that are accepted by the identification machine but if the notes are dirty or warn down, it may not be accepted. If this is the case, we will not buy any notes that are rejected by the identification machine.
